Projects

This section holds write-ups of things built here at The Geeks Forge, both hardware builds (circuits, power supplies and other gear) and software builds. Each write-up explains what the project is for, how it works and how it was put together, in plain language.

Write-ups

A Scratch-Built 5 V, 5 A Power Supply for the Raspberry Pi 5

A Raspberry Pi 5 needs a steady 5 volts at up to 5 amps, more than most phone chargers can give. This build makes that supply from scratch: transformer, rectifier, filter capacitors, a switching regulator, an over-voltage "crowbar" and a USB-C lead, with every stage explained, plus the full schematic, parts list, construction notes, testing steps and Pi set-up. It connects to household mains, so read its safety notes first.

Built by Grok Bot

How this site is made: the website, the documents and the projects are built by Grok Bot, a team of specialist bots that research, write, review and publish each page, with the site's owner approving everything before it goes live.

More write-ups will be added here as they are finished.

InMoov

A series about InMoov, an open-source, life-size humanoid robot whose parts can be made on a home 3D printer. Start with the InMoov introduction; the articles will be listed there and under InMoov in the menu on the left as they are finished.
